SnorkelMatch

How we check

Who is behind SnorkelMatch, where the size charts and safety facts come from, what we did not do, and how to get something corrected.

Who is behind this site

SnorkelMatch pages are signed by SnorkelMatch; no person is named because no single person's expertise stands behind them. You reach us at hello@snorkelmatch.xyz. The site carries no advertising, sponsored content or affiliate links, and nobody pays to appear on it or to be left out.

What we did not do

We did not physically test any snorkel mask. We have no lab, no test panel and no divers on staff. We do not rate masks, rank them or call any of them the best. We compile what the makers publish about sizing and what official and scientific sources say about safety, and we show you how to check the fit yourself.

How a size chart gets into the tool

  1. We open the chart on the maker's own website or official store, never on a retailer or review site.
  2. We copy the size lines and the maker's measuring instruction exactly, with the link and the date we read it (2026-10-09 for every chart now in the tool).
  3. Where a chart is an image, we read the values off the image and quote the words printed on it.
  4. If we cannot read a chart on an official page, the brand stays out. We never fill a gap from memory or from a reseller's copy.

Charts in the size finder now:

  • Ocean Reef, Aria QR+, Aria Classic, Aria JR: XS, S/M, M/L, L/XL.
  • Cressi, Duke, Duke Action, Baron: S/M, M/L.
  • Cressi, Kiddy: One size.
  • Decathlon (Subea), Easybreath (adult surface masks): S/M, M/L.

Brands we checked and left out:

  • U.S. Divers: Official store lists traditional masks as one size or by age; no face-measurement chart found for a full-face model.
  • Head / Mares (Sea Vu Dry): The official product page returned 'page not found' on 2026-10-09; the chart was only on retailer pages.
  • Wildhorn (Seaview 180): The official product URL redirects to the home page; the chart was only on reseller pages.
  • Tribord: Former Decathlon brand name; the current Decathlon (Subea) Easybreath chart is included instead.

How safety facts are written

Safety statements come from official bodies (the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the CDC, the Hawaii Department of Health, the National Park Service), the Divers Alert Network, makers' own instructions, and the abstracts of studies indexed on PubMed. Each guide lists its sources with the date we read them, and quotes them where the wording matters. We report what a source says and who said it; we do not add verdicts of our own, and we do not give medical advice.

The tools we use

We use software, including AI tools, to find and cross-check sources and to draft pages. Every figure and claim is checked against the source listed on the page before it is published. The size finder and the quiz run in your browser and send nothing anywhere.

Corrections

If a chart has changed, a link is broken or a page says more than its source, email hello@snorkelmatch.xyz. If you represent a brand named on the site and a chart is out of date, send us the official page and we will update it. Corrections are free, and we never charge to change a page.
